I could not think of a better way to relaunch Satin & Snowflakes than by featuring one of photographer Anne-Marie Bouchard‘s beautiful weddings from this summer.

I specifically chose to share Lisa & Justin’s wedding in Perth, Ontario for this relaunch because it highlights so much of what Satin & Snowflakes loves: natural beauty, romance, elegance, natural light, dreamy flowers and timeless style. I couldn’t help but smile from ear to ear as I watched their story unfold through the pictures. There were so many beautiful moments that I had a very difficult time narrowing them down… in fact, I barely did. This is the longest wedding post published to date on S&S. Yes, it really is that gorgeous.

Lisa and Justin were one of those rare couples I book without meeting first. Lisa and I sent emails back and forth, emailing pictures and telling stories and decided we would be a great fit. Months later I finally got to meet Lisa in person with her Mom but wouldn’t get to meet Justin until the wedding day when he would be racing to set up their alter before rushing to ready himself for their ceremony.

I love Lisa and Justin’s story. They met on a hot summer afternoon. Justin was landscaping near Lisa’s house and when Lisa walked outside their was instant chemistry. He walked right up to her and asked her out but from what I understand, after one date the two just didn’t click. It wasn’t until a mutual friend set the two up on a blind date that they were reunited and this time sparks flew. Needless to say, this dear friend was one of Lisa’s bridesmaids at their beautiful Stewart Park wedding in Perth, Ontario. Again, like the first day they met, it was a hot summer day and Lisa glowed in her gorgeous Watters gown that pretty much looked like it was made for her. Justin couldn’t quite keep the tears at bay when he saw her walking down the aisle with her Dad, in fact, there were very few dry eyes in the park at that moment. Lisa’s mother played an integral role in helping the two sort out their wedding plans. Since they were planning all the way from Calgary, she dealt with details, built the alter, baked the cake, and was Lisa’s right hand the entire process. It’s a special thing seeing a bond between mother and daughter that tight.

Needless to say I was honoured to capture this day for these two special people. They are kind, so loved by their families and just so in love with each other. I know they’ll have a long, wonderful and happy marriage.
